Paralegal Wanted - Court of Protection Department
We are looking for a paralegal to join our expanding and dynamic Court of Protection team consisting of four solicitors, and two trainee solicitors.
We are Lexcel accredited, and have contracts with the Legal Aid Agency in community care and mental health. We have been rated Category 1 (Excellence) for Mental Health and Court of Protection in our most recent peer review. We primarily represent vulnerable adults without capacity in welfare cases, most frequently instructed on the individual’s behalf by the Official Solicitor. We also represent family members in the Court of Protection.
We are looking for a paralegal to join the team and to assist our solicitors with their Court of Protection work primarily; we also conduct community care cases and there will be opportunities to advise and assist community care clients. We provide detailed training and there is scope for able individuals to attend court with counsel, meet with clients and draft documents in court proceedings.
Those successful in their application will have the opportunity of a training contract, subject to performance. We are looking for strong academic, diligent and conscientious individuals with an interest in the areas of law we specialise in, a passion to assist the most vulnerable in society, and motivation to progress within the firm. Experience of Court of Protection and community care work is not required.
